Guest professor at Arkitektur- og designhøgskolen i Oslo (AHO)

During my stay in KONSTFACK, Sweden, I moved to Norway to teach at the National University in Oslo.

The university specializes in architecture and design, and the level of research and education is very high.

The students taking my workshop were master's degree students, who were enthusiastic and curious about my project, and I gained a lot from the class.

It is a great honor for me as a university faculty member to be able to give classes based on my research and to receive various kinds of feedback from universities around the world.

I think that Japan has been losing its unique value little by little, as it has become more and more focused on the competition to achieve a high level within the global standard.

Japan is a country with its own culture, aesthetics, values, and ethics that were born from its long history.

I do not deny learning from world standards, but I would like Japan to be a country that values originality and demonstrates its ability to move the world in a better direction.

I do not want to lose sight of this in my research. This was the workshop in Norway that made me think so.

スウェーデンのKONSTFACK滞在中、ノルウェーへ移動してオスロにある国立大学での授業を行ました。

AHOは建築とデザインに特化した大学で、研究と教育のレベルは非常に高いものでした。

授業の対象は大学院生で、非常に熱心にそして好奇心旺盛に授業を受けてくれ、私も得るものが多かったです。

自身の研究とそれをベースにした授業が、世界の様々な大学で興味を持ってもらえ、様々なフィードバックをもらえる事に、大学教員としての冥利を感じました。

日本は、世界標準の中で高いレベルを目指す競争に傾倒し、独自の価値を少しずつ失い続けているように思います。

長く歴史を積み重ねることで生まれた独自の文化、美意識、価値観、倫理観がある国なのですが。

ワールドスタンダードに習う事は否定しませんが、オリジナリティも大切にして世界をより良き方向へ動かす力を発揮する国であって欲しい。

自身の研究ではその事を見失わないようにしたい、そう思えるノルウェーでの授業でした。
